Dr. Howard Nelson
Dr. Howard Nelson is a clinical assistant professor with the Department of Technology Management in the College of Technology and Innovation at Arizona State University. He has been a professional in the graphic communications industry for 44 years. He holds three journeyman cards in graphic production disciplines, has been a technical sales representative for a major film manufacturer, and has held positions in production, production management, senior management and sales.
As an educator for the Graphic Information discipline, he has written and taught curriculum for courses that build student's skills in the print media. He also has experience designing and teaching courses using distance-learning technology to deliver course material at multiple sites simultaneously.
Dr. Nelson's training experience was as the director of the Milwaukee Graphic Arts Institute, a graphic arts industry-training program for employed adult students. He has also been an active participant in the 2+2+2 school-to-work educational model, building educational partnerships between high schools, technical colleges and the university system, to better serve the needs of students and industry.
He is a member of Printing Industries of America, serves as a member of the Color Management Conference Committee for PIA, is President of the Graphic Communications Education Foundation for Printing Industries of Arizona, and holds the Chairmanship of Sub-committee 4 for Process Control, for the Committee for Graphic Arts Technology Standards (CGATS).
Howard is a graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate in Applied Science in Printing and Publishing, a graduate of Stritch University in Milwaukee Wisconsin with a BS in Business Management. His graduate work was done at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee where he earned a MS in Adult Education Administration, and at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis Minnesota where he earned his doctorate.

Dr. Thomas Schildgen
Dr. Thomas Schildgen is the Chair for the Department of Technology Management in the College of Technology and Innovation at Arizona State University. He has been a professor of Technology for the last twenty-six years at ASU. Prior to joining ASU, Dr. Schildgen served four years on the faculty of Illinois State University.
Dr. Schildgen has worked in the printing industry and is active in many professional organizations, a variety of advisory boards, and serves on the Boards of the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications, and Accreditation Board for the NAIT. Dr. Schildgen was named the 2005 Distinguished Alumni for the Department of Technology at Illinois State University, and recently received the Electronic Document Systems Foundation 2005 Educator of the Year award. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Mesa United Way Board of Directors. In October of 2006, Dr. Schildgen was one of eight national industry leaders inducted into the Soderstrom Society.
Dr. Schildgen is a national and international consultant for Educational Development, Industrial Training, and the Graphic Arts Industry. He has done work for companies such as Quad Graphics, Hughes Missile Group, TC Advertising, and Mannington Resilient Floors. He has authored a book entitled Pocket Guide to Color with Digital Applications, published by Delmar.
In addition to his educational responsibilities, Dr. Schildgen is responsible for the Graphic Information Solutions academic enterprise that has seven full time employees and several student workers that provide graphic production for ASU.

Kenneth L. Macro, Jr.
Mr. Ken Macro is assistant professor in the graphic communication department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California where he specializes in print production management, marketing and sales, knowledge management, Lean manufacturing, and training program development.
Ken is the faculty advisor for University Graphic Systems (UGS)—a student-managed, student-run printing enterprise on the campus of Cal Poly.
Prior to academia, he was the director for Reprographics, Mailing and Shipping Services at both Cal Poly and The University of Akron; graphics manager for Alltel Directories Publishing in Hudson, Ohio; marketing director for various healthcare facilities in the Pittsburgh area; owner and president of a printing and copying business in central Pennsylvania; and regional sales coordinator for Kinko’s of Ohio.
Ken is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing studies in education and knowledge management from Walden University.

Audrey G. Bennett
Ms. Audrey Bennett is associate professor of graphics in the Department of Language, Literature, and Communication at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York where she teaches graphic design to interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate students and conducts research on the design of visual treatments and strategies that facilitate user input in the design process.
Ms. Bennett is editor of Design Studies: Theory and Research in Graphic Design published by Princeton Architectural Press that chronicles historical and contemporary efforts of designers to broaden the scope of the profession of graphic design to include research. Her writings are published in the Journal of Design Research, Visible Language, Design Issues, and various interdisciplinary conference proceedings. In addition, she serves on the board of directors for the Upstate New York Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
Audrey possesses an MFA in graphic design from Yale University School of Art.

Mr. Art Seto is on the faculty of the School of Graphic Communications Management, Ryerson University, where he teaches courses including Manufacturing Management for the Graphic Arts, Estimating for the Graphic Arts, and a fourth-year capstone course where students create a business plan for a new graphic arts company,
Prior to teaching, Art worked for twenty years in the printing industry for companies like Quebecor World and Metropolitan Fine Printers, as well as a consultant to the printing industry on matters of operations management, MIS/ERP implementation and the environment. His career in industry culminated as a senior manager of a web-to-print company which he was involved in building and taking "public."
Art's areas of printing industry research include operations/manufacturing management, automation, ERP/ MIS implementation, small and medium size enterprises (SME) and environmental management.
Art possesses an MBA in information technology management from Athabasca University, Canada and is is currently a doctoral candidate pursuing studies in management and entrepreneurship at Lincoln University, UK.

Dr. Jerry Waite is a professor of technology and the coordinator of the Digital Media program, a curriculum he founded, at the University of Houston College of Technology, Texas. He was awarded tenure in 1999, promoted to full professor in 2008, and currently teaches most of the undergraduate credit courses in printing technology.
Dr. Waite has been involved in the printing and publishing business his entire career. He is active in the International Graphic Arts Education Association (IGAEA) and has served that organization in many capacities including a current term as its treasurer. He is the president of the board of directors of the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications (ACCGC), the Vice Chairman of the Houston Museum of Printing History, a member of the Nolan Moore Foundation, the Print-Ed Advisory Council, and the Houston Production Manager’s Association. He serves on the graphic-related advisory boards for Lone Star College, Houston Community College, and Wharton County Junior College and is the editor of the Visual Communications Journal.
Jerry earned his doctorate in higher education, work and adult development from University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Sorce has published in refereed marketing, management, and psychology journals. These publications have spanned a wide range of topics including basic research in psychology (retrieval processes in long-term memory), marketing segmentation analysis (lifestyles of older consumers), and most recently, Internet buying behavior and relationship marketing.

Liz Dopp
Liz Dopp is the Managing Editor for Print in the Mix. Prior to joining Print in the Mix, she was a librarian with RIT Libraries for 18 years, active in the management and development of RIT Libraries' websites and their content, as well as managing the library's many online subscription databases. Liz also headed up interlibrary loan, circulation, and other library services during her career with RIT Libraries.
Liz received a BS in Business Administration from RIT and possesses an MLS from the University of Buffalo.
