According to recent analysis from eMarketer, while total global media spend dropped in 2009, online ad spending increased by 2% to $55.2 billion.
eMarketer forecasts that worldwide online growth will be double-digit each year through 2014 and that "these rates will be unmatched by other media."

The Internet’s share of total ad spending worldwide is forcasted to jump from 11.9% in 2009 to 17.2% in 2014.
