Newspapers Ads More Credible and Reliable

December 2008 -- A study about newspaper readership finds that 61% of American adults read print editions of newspapers frequently, while 52% of adults read newspapers online every day or a few times a week.
Conducted by Douglas E. Schoen, of Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, the survey polled a representational sample of the U.S. adult population, with 2,000 adults participating. The margin of sampling error is /- 3% overall.
The poll shows that a majority of those surveyed believe advertising in newspapers gives them useful and is more credible and reliable than advertising in other mediums.

Respondents say they find advertisements in newspapers to be more accurate and reliable than advertisements on television, on the radio, online and outdoors.

A majority of respondents say they look at advertisements in newspapers frequently.
- Over half of respondents said that at least sometimes newspaper ads influence their decision to purchase a product or service.
